Lost Mobs of Lavastorm

Tlaloc : Ding 46 provisioner.     With a whole new stack of junk to turn into food Tlaloc has enough to keep him busy for weeks.

Tezcatlipocca : Ding 59, 1% XP.    Spent a little more time in Lavastorm and accomplished little, unfortunately.      Need to get some drakes, who are too tough for me to go after solo; some mobs I have no idea where to find; some Flare Reapers (25) who are difficult to solo and find; and some Basalt Rumblers, who don’t spawn in large numbers anywhere and basically require camping, again.      I think I have 5 of the required 30, so that’s going to take a while.

These Lavastorm kill quests are the worst kill quests I’ve run across.     Some have been difficult because the mobs are hard to reach; are tough to kill; but I don’t think I’ve run into any where I had to kill 30 mobs and only two or three are up at any particular time.     That’s a grand yawner.      Especially, when you’re doing it solo which is basically the way quests get completed in this game.     Anyway……..

Progressed Lost Legends quest by talking to Buglegreeder the goblin, then someone in the Solusek Ro temple.     Next step is to visit, basically, every zone in the game and find a skeleton.     I know exactly where the Feerrott one is – near Cazic Thule – and the rest are probably just as far out of the way.     Found the one in Antonica, then headed to Commonlands to pick up the second.

First, though, since I was in the Commonlands I thought I would try the Gobbler epic quest.      It’s a simple task – kill a level 33 epic x2 slug – but it was not something I could solo.     I was down past 20% health and mana and he was around 40% health.      After escaping, I could not find the exit to this little dungeon and had to call out.     So much for the Commonlands skeleton I came out here for.

Bought a whole bunch of collection items.     Found several on sale for good prices, and completed a full six quests which made me a happy camper.

Spent a lot of time then, in Tenebrous Tangle, mainly trying to get that level.     Completed two of the three plant gathering repeatable quests; ie, I can no longer repeat the quests.   Also fully completed the Scaleborn Sentries weapon quest, and finished one instance of the archeologist’s quests for dragon idols.     These idols are difficult to gather because they spawn slowly and in fixed places.

Sucked up a death to progress the Burglars Afoot quest.     You need to get up to the top of the two treehouses in the Tangle to progress these, and the first treehouse was a piece of cake.    Try as I might, I could not clear the second one due either to respawns or pulling too many mobs.     So I ran up and stood there long enough to get the update and also die.     Next, the Herald of Dar must die.    And on that note ended my session.

981 quests, and position 59.    But boy I’m having a hard time completing quests at this time.       Hard time playing too, given that it’s my busy season.

  1. Grats on the level, I agree about the dificulty in questing. It would be so nice to find a static group to do these things with, unfortunately also nearly impossible. So now I spend my time doing green quests, and mentoring down for turn ins so I get the ap points for them.

  2. I, alas, didn’t finish those Lavastorm quests until I was like 59 or so. I was 62 before I finished Lost Legends of Lavastorm, and even then I needed someone to help with one of the last four nameds. I did have a guildie doing the same quest who helped out with the killing for awhile.

Good luck on the quests, though… if you finish those and are still feeling frisky, do the quest Ognit Eznertob gives in Solusek’s Eye to get a cool and unusual title – Champion of Drednever.
